The more I look into the environmental impact that our clothing has on our environment, the more I am determined to make a change in both the way I consume AND the way we make our clothing.
It is crazy to think that it takes 27000 litres ( !!!) of water to produce just one cotton t-shirt.
Globally, we produce 20 million tonnes of cotton EACH YEAR ! Imagine how much water that is consumed ! No wonder we are running out of water in some parts of the world …..
A single pair of jeans can use up 11,000 litres of water during its lifecycle – that’s enough water to sustain a family of four for a month !
Those are just a few of the facts. Have a look at the info-graphic above for some more revealing facts.
Please feel free to download the infographic and share with your network. Help spread the word. The more people we can get involved in reducing our textile waste, the better.
Just think …. each t-shirt or jeans that you don’t buy, you are literally helping to save tens of thousands litres of water ! It is time to slow down and think. Be conscious of your consumption. I am not saying stop shopping, just slow it down a bit. The end.
We are launching a slow kids collection on 28th February, to help reduce the environmental impact of our children’s clothing. Find out more here.
