#SharingOurStash – A thank you and a recap

Sharing Our Stash - Thank You

I want to start today’s post with a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has got involved with the #SharingOurStash project – the people who have requested a stash, those that have shared and told others about the project, and you, just for reading my posts. In means a lot.

So far we’ve made available five stashes. There’s been vintage buttons, three different high quality fabric stashes (see here, here and here) and last weeks trimmings.

So first up a little update…

Vintage Buttons

I still have some left! If you’re interested in getting some, leave a comment on the post and I’ll get back to you. If you’re quick you could make like Sophie and Leslie….

Vintage Buttons

Upcycled, handmade Christmas gifts. Perfect!

Fabric

Fabric has been a huge hit – where else can you get such great quality at just £1 a metre?! I do have some left, again, comment if you’d like some. I was particularly thrilled to see these comments – what a great use of the fabrics! I look forward to seeing what gets made!

Comments FabricPlease do tell your local community craft groups about this project.

#SharingOurStash Inspiration

Over the last few weeks I have been sharing inspiration on what you could make with the stashes. Here’s some of my favourites…

Upcycling Craft Projects from Jake and Maya

The great thing about these, is they cover all skill levels. Making the bobby-pins is easy and the button hot hair balloons can be created by children. Things like the suitcase upcycle are a little more fiddly and the no-sew teepee is just fabulous – easy but you’ll need a little patience and some space. The teepee is a great stash buster. If you’ve your own stash of fabrics then get them out!

I am also a little obsessed right now with lace dreamcatchers. They look beautiful and there’s some wonderful examples out there (just search Pinterest!). I have not yet tried to make one, but some of the trimmings stash would be a great addition!

What are you favourite makes? Let me know in the comments.
