As an ex-interior designer for large residential and hotel projects, I am still very passionate about finding new interior products and trends, so being in London during London Design week is always very inspiring.
100% Design and Focus is always nice to visit and where i catch up with old friends and suppliers.
But my favourite is Design Junction, a relatively new show, because there are usually quite a few new and independent designers showing there.
I didn’t really like their new location but nonetheless, It was a nice show to visit for inspiration.
And here are a few brands that I absolutely loved but unfortunately, my phone battery was drained so couldn’t take pictures.
Mr. & Mr. – Innovative products that uses up-cycled materials.
Kuku Big Bag – Beautifully hand crafted leather bags, made in London. They also hold leather craft workshops, should you wish to learn how to make your own.
Plantation – Fun porcelain elements designed for growing herbs and ornamental plants. Great product to help up cycling glasses and jars more green.
Lahla – Homewares and creative gifts for food lovers. I especially love their “dig into your egg” set. All made in UK.
Otago – Well crafted homewares and gifts in support of marginalised African communities.
Another Studio – Simple and clean collection of Lignum Fold wooden designs for the home.
The Link Collective – Make your own Furoshiki Bag with one of their leather carry straps and one of your favourite scarves. Really regret not buying one !
and many many more.
Ps. I went passed the Luis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition on the way there. It is on for a little while longer, so do go and see it if you get a chance. They had some lovely demonstrations, both video and live, of how they make their famous handbags. Well worth a visit.
